Serviced 60s/early 70s beat box. Ace Tone Rhythm Aces were the direct ancestors of the mighty Roland TR series of drum machines - this is very similar to the Roland TR-55.
For sale serviced and working well.
NOTE: Photos are of a previous unit. See below for condition of the current machine. Photos to follow soon - get in touch if you want first look.
Condition of this machine is good for its 45 or so years with some signs of age - the plastic tops to the knobs are missing and the handle is worn out.
Sonically, it's a real treat - lovely warm analogue beats that have a pleasing 'woody' tone to them - and it's not marred by any noticeable age-related artefacts. The range of rhythms isn't exactly huge bvut you can generate some interesting variations with the usual multiple button presses and the selector knob.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
- It is a 100v Japanese model and will run fine on North American mains 115/120v without a transformer (we run all our tests using 120v power); however, a step-down transformer is recommended for extended use.
- A step-down transformer is required in the UK/EU.
- We do not recommend using cheap generic Chinese mains transformers and can supply a high quality UK-made unit if required.
